The Writers’ Room is a dedicated workshopping and co-writing space for speculative fiction writers. It’s a place for strengthening your stories, collaborating, and getting focused feedback from a professional developmental editor.

What is the Writers’ Room?
A community of paid subscribers to the Pagewake Substack, built on three pillars:
✒️ The Monthly Live Workshop: The heart of the room. Each month, we select a member’s scene, chapter, or short story for in-depth discussion. We cover what’s working, how it could be made even stronger, and provide a clear path on how to get there. We also answer general craft and writing questions from the rest of our community.
📖 A Dedicated Discord Server: Our 24/7 digital home. Here, members connect for daily chatter, craft questions, writing sprints, and exchange critique and feedback on each other’s stories.
🔮 Expert Facilitation: Every session is guided by Cae, a professional developmental editor. I use the same kind, craft-focused methods I learned at Clarion West and the same standard of feedback I give my private clients—ensuring discussion is always productive and respects the heart of the story.

Submit: A submission window opens for members to share their work.
Select: One piece is chosen via our fair and equal weighted lottery.
Workshop: We meet live for a structured, craft-focused deep dive into the work.
Connect: Discussion continues in our Discord, alongside peer critique exchanges and general writerly support.
