A Note from the Ebb of the Year

When I first joined Substack back in June, I had no idea what to expect.

I’d never done anything like this before, and didn’t know if anyone would resonate with what I had to say.

The plan? Just give it a shot. If it failed, I could always bail and try something else.

Honestly, I (or rather, the gremlin that lives in my head) expected it to fail. But last night, with just more than a day left in the year, we passed a thousand subscribers and, needless to say, you proved all those brain gremlins wrong.

From the first moment I arrived, I’ve found the most welcoming, supportive, and intelligent people. The writing community on Substack is something truly special, and I’m blessed to have met each and every one of you.

I can’t put into words how grateful I am. From the bottom of my heart: thank you. Thank so much.

You’ve made 2025 the most incredible year, reignited my spark, and filled my heart with hopes and dreams.

Whether it’s the Writers’ Room opening next month (*excited and terrified noises*), or all the posts I have planned for the new year, I can’t wait to see what 2026 brings, and to share it with you all.

So, wherever you are this New Year’s Eve, and whatever you’re up to, I hope you have the a glorious night and the best start to the new year.

Because from what I’ve seen these past six months? You all absolutely deserve it.
